Hour wait and our food still wasn’t ready when we were told 20 min wait time? This place won’t be in business long.

Delicious food! And our server was amazing! She had a peppy and excited attitude that made the visit even more enjoyable! I will definitely be visiting this establishment in the future!

Good southern home cooking. Everything was cooked to perfection, staff was nice and friendly. You can tell this is a locals spot but didn’t feel out of place at all not being a local.

First waited at the front door for 5 minutes without even being greeted to have to ask if we needed to seat ourselves.. Then we sat down and literally sat there for 15 minutes without even being greeted again or had drink/food order taken. There were two other groups of people that came in after us that got served. We finally got up and left and no one said a word. Absolutely ridiculous and will never be back..

We stumbled upon this place. We drove by and were a little weary because it was attached a gas station. This place was AMAZING! The staff was welcoming and friendly. Food was cooked to perfection, and homemade style biscuits. It was a local restaurant but very quiet friendly restaurant.

Had the philly steak bagel with egg. Food was great and staff was very friendly!

Decided to drop by on a Sunday morning and get the buffet. To be a small buffet, this has great country cooking. I loved the biscuits and the chipped beef. I will make toast for you if you prefer chipped beef on toast. Fresh pancakes and French toast are included, but in the future I will skip it. The French toast is good but there are so many items on the bar that are fantastic that I won't fill up on it in the future. The staff were extremely friendly and the place was clean and neat.

The food was the best country cooking we had at a restaurant. There's a full bar and you can order your food there or at the regular place. There is bluegrass music almost every day. Check the schedule.

Long wait. Food was not cooked done. Worse than School Cafeteria Food..

The breakfast is excellent with good old country service. Dont pass this place up when in the Banner Elk area.

Small mom and pop shop but the food is good and down home. I missed the breakfast menu but I hear the hashbrown casserole is amazing i had the hamburger and gravy with grilled onions and mushrooms. Simple but delish the gravy was so flavorful definitely going to be one of my favorites. If your counting carbs not the best option but for a good solid full you up for the rest of the day meal be sure to stop in here. I don't want to forget the staff was nice they started to get busy for lunch and the 2 ladies still kept there smile, my server Fritz was attentive and my coffee mug never empty. Thanks for a nice lunch.

We grabbed togo breakfast and it was great! The lady at the window was very nice. We ordered gravy biscuits and pancakes that came with eggs, bacon, and a biscuit. It was ready in less than 15 mins and the portion was huge! Food tasted fantastic. Will stop by for lunch next time!

Excellent traditional country food. A classic diner, don't expect restaurant quality service. Worth it for the low price and delicious food.

We were out looking for a place for breakfast and happened across this place. We both decided on The Hickerman, which was 2 biscuits with scrambled egg, sausage and home fries smothered in sausage gravy. We decided right off that we should have ordered one and split it. The portion size is huge for the $6.95 meal! The food was great and service was great too. Restaurant and bathrooms were very clean as well. Definitely recommend!

This was the place we stopped at before going back to Raleigh NC for breakfast. The food was amazing and our waiter was awesome.my son's diamond earring fell out of his ear in between eating at the restaurant and going to the car. Our waiters name I believe was Hunter. He took down my address and offered to send me the earring VIA mail if he found it.so the food was amazing service was amazing and it was even further amazing to know that our waiter actually cared to try to help us find my son's earring.

Tasty, reasonably priced breakfast. Wish the dining room was open!

We came to Banner elk to see snow for the first time this weekend and this is by far the best restaurant we have been to. Everything we got to eat was great. We are a family of 4 and all of us had great food and ate till we couldn’t eat anymore. The staff is also great. They were busy and still took great care of us.

We came upon this little gem by accident on Thanksgiving. The plan was to grab breakfast before sightseeing, but we got a late start. We happened upon this great place having an all you can eat Thanksgiving buffet. The food was delicious! The pecan pie was amazing! Next time I visit NC I will certainly return for another meal.

It’s our go to place when the dog gets us extra early. It’s a no fuss kind of place. Great food and service.

Nice staff! Good food. Breakfast buffet pleased everyone in our group and had a variety of home-cooked options. Made to order French toast and pancakes included with buffet. Great, laid back place to fuel up before hitting the slopes!

First off it is connected to a gas station. Servce was horrible. They said maybe 3 words to us. Ran out of anything good on buffet then when it was replace they only brought enough for 1 more person and placed it on the buffet.

Food was great, waitress walked by use 5 times without stopping when we were seated. The cashier had to tell her to come help us.

This place is what it says it is, a country kitchen. The staff is friendly and the food is pretty good. If you're trying to be health conscious, it's not the place for you. We got the breakfast buffet and it had cinnamon rolls and breakfast pizza that was delicious! But I do feel the need to workout a little harder this week.

Visiting from out of town and found this local spot for breakfast! AMAZING! Although they were short staffed and had a rush when we arrived, it was well worth it! Polite staff, large food portions, food was delicious were great! Would definitely go back next trip!
